Russia to Extend Range of Pantsir Missile

On August 22, the Russian news agency TASS reported that Russia has produced prototypes of the the Pantsir-SM, a newer version of the Pantsir-S1 air defense system, and will begin serial production of the system next year. This will also include the development of a new missile for the system that Russia claims will have twice the range of the current interceptor, reaching 40 km.
