India Test Fires Prithvi-2 Ballistic Missile

On February 21, India’s Strategic Forces Command (SFC) test fired a Prithvi-2 tactical surface-to-surface short-range ballistic missile. The missile was fired at night from launch complex 3 of the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur. The Prithvi-2 missile entered service in 2003, and was recently test fired on February 7. It has a range of 250-350 km while carrying a conventional or nuclear warhead of 500-1,000 kg.
