Between November 21 and December 19, Houthi forces fired or attempted to fire at least one ballistic missile. The target of this launch is unclear. Below is a summary of select Houthi missile-launch reports during this period.
- November 29:
- Houthi forces attempted to fire a ballistic missile, but the Arab Coalition claims to have destroyed the Sa’ada-based missile launcher before the missile could be fired. Other reports, however, suggest that the missile failed while in flight and fell in Yemeni territory, with no intercept required.
- November 30:
- Houthi forces launched a “military projectile” on a residential house in Jizan, injuring two people. While it is unlikely this projectile was a ballistic missile, the reporting on it is noteworthy, as it marks the first time KSA has confirmed a Houthi rocket attack since September 2018.
- December 2:
- An Emirates News Agency report says that the “Arab Coalition air defence system has monitored the launch of a ballistic missile…towards a civilian-populated village in Al Duraihmi district in Hodeidah” The report, however, notes that the missile was fired from within Hodeidah (in the “Ras Kuthib” district), which suggests this was not a ballistic missile.
