US State Department Approves Swiss Patriot Sale

On September 30, the U.S. State Department approved the sale of up to five Patriot air and missile defense systems to Switzerland. Under the sale’s terms, Switzerland could purchase up to five Patriot radar sets, 17 launchers, and 70 GEM-T interceptors. The total cost of the systems is estimated to be $2.2 billion.
