On October 11, the U.S. Navy conducted a test of the Raytheon-built Air and Missile Defense Radar at the Pacific Missile Range Facility in Kauai, Hawaii. The AN/SPY-6(V) radar system successfully detected, recognized, and tracked multiple targets simultaneously, and for the first time, tracked a ballistic missile through intercept. Currently in production, the radar is scheduled to be delivered to the U.S. Navy’s first Arleigh Burke Flight III destroyer in 2019.
