On April 10, Ukraine conducted final testing of its Vilkha 300mm guided rockets. The test took place in the Odesa region and was reportedly successful. “Thanks to the efforts of all those who worked on this project, we received powerful missilery, which in all respects is better than the Russian analog “Smerch” by all odds,” said Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov. Following its trial period, the Vilkha missile system will enter into mass production. The Vilkha is a solid-fuel rocket, ranging 50-300 km when fired from a 9K58 self-propelled launcher. It was developed primarily by the state-run Luch engineering bureau.
