According the the import/export tracking website ImportGenius, the U.S. Army Contracting Command has received at least one Ukrainian-made 36D6M1-1 3D mobile air defense radar system. The shipment’s bill of landing records the export date as December 7, 2017. The system is designed to detect low-altitude aerial targets under active and passive jamming conditions and to perform air traffic control functions. Iskra, the Ukrainian company which produces the radar, is involved in a legal battle with a Russian-affiliated firm which claims proprietary rights to some of its components and attempted to block the sale in 2017.
