On November 28, the State Department approved separate $250 million Foreign Military Sales to Poland for both the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) and up to 150 AIM-120C-7 Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM). Included in the sale of the HIMARS are 16 Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) M31A1 unitary warheads, 9 GMLRS M30A1 alternative warheads, 61 Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS) M57 unitary warheads, as well as practice rockets and navigation units. “This proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security objectives of the United States by helping to improve the security of a NATO ally which has been, and continues to be an important force for political stability and economic progress in Europe,” a Defense Security Cooperation Agency statement said.
