On May 24, Israeli aircraft launched missile strikes on a Syrian military airport near the city of al-Qasr, northwest of Homs. The target base, Dabaa airport, reportedly hosts Hezbollah and allied fighters. Israeli officials have not commented on the strikes, as is common IDF practice, but the planes’ jet engines could be heard in areas around Beirut. Syrian state-media claimed the base’s air defenses intercepted the missiles.
