On May 27, India’s Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) successfully test fired an updated version of its Akash surface-to-air missile. The missile, which entered service in 2015, has a range of roughly 25 km and can reach altitudes of up to 18 km. The launch marks the second successful flight test of the updated missile, which now features an indigenously-developed seeker system.
