According to an October 27 report, India is preparing to test its Phase II ballistic missile defense capability in 2020. In preparation for renewed BMD testing, India has developed a new Floating Test Range (FTR), a platform for launching and observing prototype missiles. Built off a 10,000 tonne, 200 meter ship, the FTR is equipped with telemetry devices, electro-optical sensors, and an S-band radar to aid in testing tactical missiles.
