On July 4, Houthi militants in Yemen released a video demonstrating a new underground missile launcher designed to conceal the battery from airstrikes by the Saudi-led coalition. The launcher appears in the video to fold flush with the surrounding terrain and is raised above ground level for firing. Houthi media sources report the launcher fires Badr-1 short-range ballistic missiles which the rebel group frequently uses to target assets inside Saudi Arabian territory. The number of underground launchers built conflicts across sources.
On July 6, Houthi forces launched a Badr-1 ballistic missile towards the Saudi Arabian city of Jizan. KSA air defense forces intercepted the missile without casualties or damages.
