On March 28, the Saudi Royal Air Defense Force reported that it successfully intercepted four ballistic missiles fired by Houthi forces in Yemen. The missiles, intercepted by Saudi Arabia’s PAC-3 interceptors, were targeting the Saudi cities of Khamis Mushayt, which contains the King Khalid Air Base, and Abha. In a statement by the Saudi Press Agency, the Coalition command claimed that the continuous Houthi ballistic missile attacks are “the largest evidence of continued smuggling of weapons to Yemen by all ways and means, especially from the port of Hodeidah.” Pro-Houthi media claimed that three new Qaher-M2 missiles had hit the air base, inflicting heavy losses.
